Lexis Heal is Port Jervis' version of Scottie Pippen.

A natural forward, the 5-foot-10 junior runs her team's offense as the starting point guard.

She lives for the competition and thrives on battling hard inside for every rebound.

She's had a good teacher. Her father is Michael Heal, coach of the Washingtonville girls' basketball team.

Lexis has been on the varsity for three years, and she thinks this season's team has the potential to be the best. Heal says a more positive attitude on the squad has led to better cooperation and a winning record — 3-2.
