   Ward's 'D' rates an 'A' from NEC
   Northeast Conference basketball scorers are happy to see Tonjee Ward graduate.
   Ward, a former student at Port Jervis High, was named the conference's best defender for the second straight year. The 5-foot-7 guard led St. Francis (Pa.) with 80 steals.
   Ward could score as well. She averaged 16 points per game and was selected to the conference's first team. Ward scored 24 points in the conference tournament championship game and was named tournament most valuable player.
   Ward's career ended with a 78-59 loss to Purdue in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Ward scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds.
